As we move into the final months of the year, a time for reflection and community, many families right here in Kwara South are facing significant hardship. The lingering effects of the rainy season, coupled with daily economic pressures, mean that for many, making ends meet is a constant struggle.

In the spirit of community and shared responsibility, the Samad Foundation is launching its Community Support Drive. This is our focused, grassroots effort to provide immediate and practical relief to our neighbors who need it most.

What the Drive Aims to Achieve

The goal is simple: to provide a safety net and a message of hope. We believe that no one in our community should have to choose between feeding their family and paying for their child’s education or urgent medical care. 100% of all contributions to this drive will go directly to providing tangible aid within Kwara South and surrounding communities.

Our support is focused on three critical areas:

• Essential Food & Relief Items 🍲: We are distributing care packages filled with staple food items like rice, beans, garri, and palm oil, as well as essential supplies like blankets and insecticide-treated mosquito nets to protect against malaria.
• Urgent Medical Support ⚕️: For families struggling with minor illnesses, we are helping to cover the cost of essential medications and basic check-ups at local clinics, ensuring a small health issue doesn’t become a major crisis.
• Educational Support for Children 📚: We are committed to keeping our children in school. This drive will provide dozens of students with the uniforms, books, and writing materials they need to continue their education without interruption.

A Story of Hope: Mama Ebi’s Resilience

Consider Mama Ebi, a trader at Mile 1 Market. Recent downpours damaged some of her stock, and she has been worried about how she will pay for her two children’s school supplies for the new term. Through the Community Support Drive, our foundation can provide her family with a week’s worth of food, freeing up her limited funds to stabilize her business.
